What is Promon Insight for App Security™, and how does it work?

Promon Insight for App Security™ is a mobile app security telemetry solution. It collects data from Shield for Mobile-protected apps (Insight Client), processes it through the Insight Agent (deployable on-prem or hybrid), and makes it available either in your SIEM/fraud tools or in Promon’s hosted dashboard for non-PII analytics.

What data does Insight for App Security collect? 

Insight for App Security collects non-PII security telemetry such as device/app metadata, rooting/jailbreaking events, hooking attempts, emulation, screen readers, debuggers, and other runtime anomalies. Events are tagged with severity levels. Customers can enrich events with custom metadata (e.g., session IDs) while keeping full control of any PII. 

What deployment options are available?

Insight for App Security supports three models: 

  • Cloud: easiest to deploy, includes Promon-hosted dashboard for non-PII data. 
  • On-premises: gives customers full control over telemetry, no Promon dashboard. 
  • Hybrid: PII stays on-prem, while selected non-PII is sent to Promon cloud for visualization. 

How long does it take to integrate Insight for App Security?

Existing Shield for Mobile customers can enable Insight for App Security by generating a new Shield build with Insight enabled;  no additional SDK or code integration is required, unless custom data is being added. New customers can integrate  Shield  and Insight for App Security together in minutes using Promon Shielder.

Can Insight for App Security data be used in our own SIEM or fraud systems?

Yes. The Insight Agent can forward telemetry as JSON or Protobuf to any customer system, such as SIEMs, data lakes, or fraud platforms.

6. Is Promon Shield for Mobile™ required to use Insight for App Security?

Yes. Insight for App Security is built on Shield's runtime protection and relies on Shield to collect tamper-resistant runtime telemetry.
